# Miners' Strike (1984)

The National Union of Mineworkers fought a year-long strike against pit closures. Within the broader Postwar & Modern UK period, decolonization, welfare institutions, migration, European integration and withdrawal, devolution and social change reshaped the modern United Kingdom.
