URL: https://english-history.com/timeline/-54-julius-caesar-s-second-expedition-to-britain

Caesar returned with a larger force, campaigned beyond the Thames and extracted submission and tribute from some rulers. Within the broader Roman Britain period, conquest, provincial administration, urbanization, frontier warfare and the gradual weakening of imperial rule reshaped the island. This event is placed at 54 BCE in the chronology so it can be read alongside the political, military, social and cultural changes around it. Rome still did not conquer Britain, but diplomatic and commercial ties deepened afterward.
